Nanchong High School, located in the Linjiang District Nanchong Sichuan, Zerothermo Team has Participated in this sustainable construction project aimed at achieving thermal insulation, energy conservation, and creating a comfortable learning environment. The project utilizes advanced materials and technologies such as vacuum insulated glass, Fumed Silica Core vacuum insulation panels, and a fresh air system that facilitates energy conservation, operating cost reduction, and enhances student learning outcomes and teaching quality.
Vacuum insulated glass plays a significant role in the energy conservation plan of the project. It allows natural light into the building while maintaining precise internal temperatures and is integral to the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems. The Fumed Silica Core vacuum insulation panels are used on both walls and the roof to create an insulation layer, which insulates the building even before HVAC units are turned on. Together, these materials significantly reduce energy consumption and, in turn, reduce operating costs.
The fresh air system incorporated into the project is essential for the health and well-being of students and faculty. It circulates fresh air throughout the building and reduces humidity and CO2 levels, ensuring a healthy environment for students to learn and excel.
The project, covering an area of 78000m², has achieved significant results in energy conservation. It has saved approximately 1.57 million kW·h/year, which is not only a massive amount of energy but also translates to a substantial reduction in operating costs. Additionally, this level of energy savings has considerable implications for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which amounted to 1527.7 t/year in this specific project. The project achieved a standard carbon reduction of 503.1 t/year, making it a socially responsible building. It exemplifies the significance of utilizing sustainable materials and technologies in construction, promoting environmental awareness, and contributing to sustainable development.
Nanchong High School's sustainable construction project serves as a demonstration of sustainable development practices and sets the benchmark for future buildings. In addition to providing a comfortable learning environment for students and faculty, the project exemplifies the concept of a socially responsible building, promoting environmental awareness, and acting as a catalyst for sustainable development practices.
